Hello guys! My name is Svetlana. I am a usual woman from Ukraine whose dearest dream has come true with the help of the dating site GenerationLove. I want to share the story of my love, to thank the whole Team of GenerationLove and to prove that there is nothing impossible, the craziest dreams can come true, if you strongly believe in them.
How this all began
I have never thought that I would find my love so far from Ukraine. However, when I heard about the dating site GenerationLove I decided to take a try. I knew that I would definitely find my soul-mate, I just had to be patient and to wait. And my patience, my persistence have been rewarded. I have met the best man in the world and now I can say with certainty that I am the happiest woman in the world. My husband`s name is Robert and he is from Germany. Yes, we have already got married. However, I will start from the very beginning.
So, one day I came across the profile of Robert and I decided to write him a letter. I wasn`t sure, that he would notice my message, but my inner voice whispered “Try” and I did. To my great amazement I received his reply very soon. So, our correspondence began.
Our first meeting
With every letter we liked each other more and more, we shared all our thoughts, discussed any topics and dreamt about our meeting in person. We have exchanged our contact details and less than in four months we have met. However, this wasn’t a usual meeting, when a man comes to the country of a woman to see her for the first time. At that time I decided to go to Poland for work and Robert agreed to come to Poland to meet me. So, there was no interpreter to help us with the language barrier. Of course, I was nervous. However, all my fears and worries went away as soon as I have met Robert`s eyes. The meeting took place in the city Bydgoszcz on the 17th of April, 2019. Please, remember this date))
Love at a distance
After this meeting a new stage of our relationship began. We communicated at a distance and travelled to each other as often as we could. The second meeting was already in my native city, Mariupol. Robert came on the 20th of June 2019 to get acquainted with my family. Everybody liked Robert and I was very happy. I began learning German. On the 12th of September I went to Germany to get acquainted with Roberts`s family. I stayed there for 3 month and had to come back home. However, we couldn`t be apart for such a long time anymore and Robert rushed to Mariupol on the 13th of January to celebrate Old New Year with me and my family. (N.B.: New Year after the old ukrainian calander).
Wedding in spite of Lockdown
On the 18th of April, 2020 I was going to fly to Germany together with my daughter Kate. However, the world Covid pandemic ruined our plans. Just on the day when we had a flight, all the flights were canceled and the whole world was deep in lockdown.
The following year was very difficult for us, it became a real exam for our feelings. However, we “passed this exam”.
In January 2021 I went to Poland again, in several days Robert came and took me home. On the 17th of April, 2021 we finally got married, exactly in two years after our first meeting in Bydgoszcz on the 17th of April, 2019. Unfortunately, we didn`t have a great ceremony as there was a lockdown in Germany, only my daughter managed to come for the wedding from Ukraine. However, we couldn`t wait longer.
Believe in yourselves!
I am very thankful for everything I have now. I have a wonderful husband, I am a happy mother and my family became twice bigger due to Robert. By the way, both me and Robert`s mother have birthdays on the same date, on the 13th of May)
Once again, I wish to thank the team of GenerationLove as well as the team of the local Dating Agency in Mariupol who helped me to make my dreams come true!!! Believe in yourselves, follow your hearts and remember “there is nothing impossible”
